Pulp Fashion... Legion of Honor

As the summer draws to a close, I find myself remembering all of the fun highlights that made it enjoyable! One of them was attending Pulp Fiction, an exhibit hosted by the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. Designed and crafted by Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave, Pulp Fashion showcases historical costumes from the early Renaissance period to the later designs of grand couture from the early 20th century. What makes these designs a bit more special is that each and every piece is crafted from paper! I imagine having a wardrobe of silk, brocade and cotton-jersey... but of paper?!
With such attention to detail, Isabelle displays these replicated but unique costumes in a new way that allows one to appreciate all of the intricacies of the garment and of the period.
Though the exhibit is long gone, Isabelle de Borchgrave's work still resonates within me and reminds me that no detail is too small to appreciate!
